“I have a very interesting story to share”

I have a very interesting story to share. In 1995 I commissioned Wellcraft to build a custom 32 foot Scarab to be used at the Lake of the Ozarks. I spared no expense. The boat was the talk of the lake for about three years. In 2001, I was going through a divorce and the boat that I loved had to be sold. Fast forward to 2020 and my now 27 year old son bought a 32 ft Baja ( I call them Boo-hoo’s) and I caught the bug again. I was literally five minutes from posting my Scarab on Market Place Facebook to see if anyone knew who bought my boat and where it was ( I used a broker to sell it and didn’t know who the buyer was ). Before I was able to post the boat, my son ( who grew up from the time he was three until I sold it) sent me an email saying “Dad I found a boat just like yours” I opened that email and I couldn’t believe that staring back at me from that email was MY boat. I told my son that wasn’t a boat just like mine but was in fact my boat as it was a one of.

I sent an email to Boji Boat Brokers “who had it listed” and explained that I was the original owner, though I think Barry was skeptical at first, I described the boat and all details of it to a T. I then proceeded to negotiate for the re-purchase with Barry. Barry explained to the now current owner that I was the original owner, that my now 27 year old son grew up on this boat and that it had a large sentimental value to me. All I can say is that Barry did a great job on my behalf to get me back into my boat and had it not been for him, I doubt I could have pulled off the purchase. He truly wanted to see this boat back to it’s original owner.

I have now take a picture of myself, my son, and now my grandson on this boat, three generations. It literally brought tears to my eyes. I also want to extend my thanks to the current owner my thanks for taking such good care of my baby, this boat looks like it did the day I sold it, brand new.

Barry, my sincere thanks to you and your staff, and I thank you for your assistance to my guy who picked up the boat. You made sure the trailer was in great working order, tires in good shape and wheel bearing greased.
